Milwaukee has one of the best players in the NBA in Giannis Antetokounmpo, but it’s clear that the Greek Freak can’t win games on his own. The addition of point guard Eric Bledsoe was initially a boon to the lineup, and while he’s still playing well, the Bucks have come back down to earth once again. Milwaukee is coming off a loss to the surging Bulls on Tuesday in which just four Bucks players scored in double digits. They’ll need more firepower than that to defeat the Wolves. The Bucks are just 5-5 in their last 10 games, and they’ve really struggled on the road (6-9). Lucky for them, this game will be played in the friendly confines of their home arena.
Minnesota is playing some of their best basketball of the season as of late. Expectations were high for this club after they landed Jimmy Butler in the offseason, and the former Chicago Bulls star has really found his footing as of late. Butler had cracked the 20-point mark in 10 of his last 12 games as of Wednesday, including a 23-point effort in Minnesota’s win over the Lakers on Christmas. As of Wednesday, Minnesota had won seven of their last 10 games and sat in fourth place in the Western Conference standings.
