We’re getting ready to see the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles renew acquaintances. Which NFC team will prevail in this contest?
It’s over…it’s all over. The Philadelphia Eagles are not only NFC East champions for the first time since 2013, the club is the top playoff seed in the conference for the first time in 13 years. And if the Birds defeat the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field, the franchise will have 14 regular-season victories for the first time ever.
Off Monday night’s 19-10 win over the Oakland Raiders, quarterback Nick Foles and the Eagles’ offense was a little shaky. So could head coach Doug Pederson be looking to give his field general a little more work before heading into the postseason? Regardless of who’s playing, this remains an extremely intense rivalry.
Odds
Line: Cowboys (-2.5)
Over/Under: 41
The Eagles have won nine straight home games dating back to Week 16 of ’16. That includes a season-ending victory over the Cowboys a year ago. But according to OddsShark , the visiting Cowboys are a 2.5-point favorite to win their ninth game of the season. Without knowing who will be playing for the Birds and for how long, any investment here is not advised.

It will be interesting to see just how long some of the Philadelphia Eagles’ starters are long for this game. No doubt the team would like to get Foles some more playing time but to a point. What could really use some work is the Birds’ secondary, which has had its share of issues this season. As for the Dallas Cowboys, there’s still the allure of a second straight winning campaign – something the franchise hasn’t achieved since reeling off five such efforts from 2005-09. Still, it doesn’t do much when it comes to masking a disappointing show in 2017.
Pick: Cowboys 23, Eagles 17
