We have made it to rivalry week in the NFL. Week 17 features 16 signature rivalry games on the slate. One of the games you will want to watch on late Sunday afternoon will be between the New Orleans Saints (11-4) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-11). Kickoff from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa will be at 4:25 p.m. ET on Dec. 31.
New Orleans has already clinched a playoff berth in the NFC playoffs. This is the first time the Saints will be back in the postseason since the 2013 NFL season. With a win on the road, New Orleans can clinch the NFC South division crown for the first time since the 2011 campaign. Having completed the season sweep of the Carolina Panthers is huge for this team’s chances at being division winners.
Tampa Bay has had a dreadful season in the NFC South. For the 10th straight season, the Buccaneers will have to watch the NFC playoffs at home from the couch. Tampa Bay had lofty expectations coming off a 9-7 campaign in 2016. 2017 was a complete and total disaster. It has been months since the team has won a game with Jameis Winston at quarterback for the Buccaneers.
