The holiday season bowls just keep on coming, don’t they? One of the games you will definitely want to tune in to on Saturday afternoon will be the 2017 TaxSlayer Bowl between the Louisville Cardinals (8-4) and the No. 24 Mississippi State Bulldogs (8-4).
Kickoff from EverBank Field in Jacksonville will be at 12:00 p.m. ET on Dec. 30. ESPN will have the national broadcast of the 2017 TaxSlayer Bowl. Tom Hart and Jordan Rodgers will be in the booth to call it. The available live streams can be found on WatchESPN on FuboTV.
Louisville enters play at 8-4 (4-4) on the season. The Cardinals may not have had the hot start they had a year ago, but they still have the best player playing in this game in 2016 Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson. Even if it was a “down year” for him and the program, he still finished third in the 2017 Heisman race. It’s Action Jackson in Duval this weekend!
Mississippi State enters play at 8-4 (4-4) on the season. The Bulldogs were definitely one of the better teams in the SEC, as the No. 24 overall ranking would indicated. However, they did lose a lot of things in the Egg Bowl versus the arch rival Ole Miss Rebels. Star quarterback Nick Fitzgerald tore his ACL. Head coach Dan Mullen would leave Starkville for the Florida Gators job. Mississippi State also lost the Egg Bowl at home. It was a great year for Mississippi State football nonetheless.

With Jackson playing in possibly his last game for the Cardinals, look for him to shine for Louisville against a Mississippi State team in transition. Joe Moorhead might be the perfect replacement for Dan Mullen in Starkville, but this just feels like Louisville the whole way.
