Verona face Juventus at Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 30. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Verona and Juventus are at opposite ends of the Serie A table ahead of their match on Saturday, Dec. 30. Juventus are second in the league, one point behind Napoli, while Verona are 19th, with only 13 points in their first 18 games.
Despite losing 4-0 in their last game, Verona have played well over their last five games. Fabio Pecchia’s side have picked up seven points over their last five games, including a 3-0 win over AC Milan and a 2-0 win against Sassuolo. However, Verona have struggled to defend this season. Only last-place Benevento have allowed more goals this season. Verona’s defense will be under fire against a Juventus side that leads Serie A with 45 goals. Offensively, Verona have scored 17 goals, the sixth fewest this season. Giampaolo Pazzini leads the club with four goals.
Juventus defeated Roma 1-0 to remain one point back of Napoli. Medhi Benatia scored the lone goal against Roma, firing a loose ball in the box into the back of the net as the entire Roma team stood and watched it happen. Wojciech Szczesny had a strong game in goal, replacing an injured Gigi Buffon. The win was Juventus’ second straight and fourth in their last five games. Massimiliano Allegri’s side picked up 13 of a possible 15 points in their last five games. Allegri has decided to move Paulo Dybala to the bench after the Argentina striker has hit a cold streak. Dybala started the season with 10 goals in his first six games but has only scored twice since the start of October. With Dybala coming off the bench, Allegri will lean on Gonzalo Higuaín, who started scoring since Dybala cooled off. Higuain has scored seven goals since the beginning of October.
