Let’s try and be positive about the Cleveland Browns after they went 0-16.

It happened. The Browns went 0-16 and turned in one of the most embarrassing seasons we’ve ever seen. It’s the first time since the Detroit Lions went winless back in 2008 that we’ve seen such an atrociously disgusting display of football — and it’s worth arguing that this Browns season was the worse of the two winless campaigns.

At no point this year did the Browns look competent. That being said the future is bright, no matter how dark this season was. Detroit took its 0-16 season and turned it into Matthew Stafford and a franchise turnaround. Cleveland might not have that quick of a turnaround (Detroit made the playoffs three years after going winless) but it can’t be counted out.

So in an effort to look at the brighter side of things, let’s try and find some diamonds in the rough as far as what the future holds for the Browns.

5. Cleveland is not going to go 0-16 again (yay?)

This one is kind of obvious, but it counts. This is the bottom of the barrel — it gets no lower than failing to win a game in a season. Things might not be great next year but it’s impossible to be as bad as the team was this year.

Kudos to the fans who actually paid to see games this season. Cleveland fans get a bad rap because the team is garbage, but it’s not an accurate representation of the fan base. Those folks have put up with a winless season, and no matter how hard the team might be to watch moving forward it will never ever again be as bad or hopeless as this.
