15. West Ham: Get Javier Hernandez scoring again

Bournemouth aren’t the only club who signed a high-profile striker during the summer transfer window. The Cherries aren’t the only side to waste a gifted finisher, either.

West Ham brought Javier Hernandez back to the Premier League after two seasons in the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen. The Hammers even paid £16 million to do it.

Frankly, the fee looked like a bargain for a striker with a natural instinct and keen eye for goal. Hernandez showed those qualities during a successful spell at Manchester United no less, but they’ve rarely been seen since he moved to east London.

A combination of injuries, upheaval in the managerial dugout and inconsistent supply has stymied Hernandez. David Moyes has prioritised defensive solidity since succeeding Slaven Bilic as gaffer. But the Scot has the players in Manuel Lanzini and Andre Ayew capable of creating the chances Hernandez thrives on.

Getting Chicharito back in the groove will guarantee the Hammers keep their place in the Premier League.
