Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has been rumored to retire after the season, but the man who is young at heart isn’t ready for the rocking chair.
The Seahawks are trying to reach the playoffs once again, but that would require a win over the Arizona Cardinals and a loss by the Atlanta Falcons to the Carolina Panthers. Earlier on Sunday, there were reports that should that scenario not play out, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll could be on the sideline for his final game.
However, Carroll is taking those reports on directly, saying that he has no intentions of retiring. While we have seen many coaches and players play coy on this subject, Carroll apparently isn’t going that route.

Carroll, 66, is the oldest active head coach in the NFL. He has been to the Super Bowl twice in Seattle, winning it all in a 43-8 win over the Denver Broncos back in Feb. 2014. The Seahawks could be looking at some serious roster changes in the upcoming months, with the potential losses of Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas, Michael Bennett, Cliff Avril, Sheldon Richardson and Jimmy Graham.

Some believed such turnover would mean the end of Carroll’s tenure in the Emerald City, but that’s evidently not the case. Seattle has enjoyed tremendous coaching stability since hiring Mike Holmgren back in 1999, with only he and Carroll holding the top post sans Jim Mora Jr. for one season in 2009.
