The Los Angeles Chargers needed a bunch of things to happen this past weekend if they wished to get into the AFC Playoffs, and they certainly held their end of the bargain. The Chargers destroyed division rival Oakland by the score of 30-10, and then needed both the Buffalo Bills and Tennessee Titans to lose. Well, neither of those two things happened, and the Chargers now find themselves out of the playoffs once again.

Los Angeles started the season off at 0-4, and it is nearly impossible to climb out of that hole. They did their best, becoming one of the hottest teams in the NFL for most of the season, and showed that first-year head coach Anthony Lynn was the real deal. With their top pick in 2018, they should look to bolster the offensive line, and Connor Williams would be a nice fit in Los Angeles moving forward.

Quarterback Philip Rivers had another solid season, but he is getting up there in age. The team went out and picked up free agent Russell Okung to protect his blindside in 2017, and he actually did a much better job than the one he did in Denver in 2016. Still, the Bolts need a long-term answer at the left tackle position, and Williams could be that for at least the rest of Rivers’ career.
