Despite plenty of NFL teams saying farewell to their head coach, it looks like the Cincinnati Bengals are bringing back Marvin Lewis.

With all the firings going on in the NFL, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that Marvin Lewis would be out in Cincinnati. The Bengals have never won with Lewis as the head coach, and his team played poorly in a year where he was reportedly on the hot seat. However, the Bengals made a commitment to Lewis on Tuesday, inking him to a two-year extension, which defies most logic.

Those same Cincinnati Bengals shocked a bunch of people this past weekend when they went into Baltimore and beat a Ravens team that needed to win to make the playoffs. With the win, the Bengals helped the Buffalo Bills make the playoffs for the first time since 1999. Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton was thanked personally by Bills Mafia, as fans of the team donated over $100,000 to Dalton’s charity, showing once again why Bills fans are some of the best in the business.

A day after their head coach retired, the Arizona Cardinals saw their starting quarterback follow him out of the door. Carson Palmer ended his 15-year NFL career on Tuesday, as he wrote a letter to all of his fans. The former No. 1 overall pick out of USC had a pretty solid career, throwing for over 45,000 yards while completing over 62 percent of his passes. Palmer saw his 2017 season end with a broken arm.

When the Seattle Seahawks picked up Jimmy Graham, it looked like a match made in heaven. Graham was such a dominant force with the New Orleans Saints that he seemed like the missing puzzle piece for Russell Wilson and the Seahawks. However, it has been more than just a bumpy ride, and on Tuesday, it was reported that he will likely test the free agent waters. Graham is still a physical freak, and should fetch a pretty penny in free agency.

Staying with the Seahawks, it is looking likely that both Kam Chancellor and Cliff Avril will retire from the NFL. Both men suffered season-ending neck injuries in 2017, putting a big dent in the Seahawks’ Legion of Boom defense. The Seahawks missed the playoffs for the first time since 2011, and it looks like they will have some serious rebuilding to do this offseason. The Los Angeles Rams became the class of the NFC West this season, and they might just stay there for a while.
