NEW YORK - JULY 19: THE AMAZING RACE is a multi-Emmy Award-winning reality series hosted by Emmy Award-nominated host Phil Keoghan, where teams of two embark on a trek around the world. At every destination, each team must compete in a series of challenges, some mental and some physical, and only when the tasks are completed will they learn of their next location. Teams who are the farthest behind will gradually be eliminated as the contest progresses, with the first team to arrive at the final destination winning THE AMAZING RACE and the $1 million prize. The 30th season of THE AMAZING RACE will premiere during the 2017-2018 television season on the CBS Television Network. Here’s how you can watch The Amazing Race’s season 30 premiere live online or the old-fashioned way right on your television.

Are you ready for the season 30 premiere of The Amazing Race with host Phil Keoghan? The series returns this Wednesday, Jan. 3 on CBS at 8:00 p.m. ET, and you can catch the action online. A $1 million grand prize will be at stake with major names as contestants. You’ll see NBA stars Shawn Marion and Cedric Ceballos, freestyle skiers Kristi Leskinen and Jen Hudak, IndyCar racers Conor Daly and Alexander Rossi, competitive eaters Joey Chestnut and Tim Janus and Big Brother houseguests Jessica Graf and Cody Nickson among the competitors.

The following are all eleven teams competing: Team Slam Dunk [Cedric & Shawn], Team Extreme [Kristi & Jen], Team IndyCar [Alexander & Conor], Team Chomp [Joey & Tim], Team Yale [Henry & Evan], Team Big Brother [Cody & Jessica], The Ring Girls [Dessie & Kayla], Team Ocean Rescue [Lucas & Brittany], Team Well Strung [Trevor & Chris], The Firefighters [Eric & Daniel], and Team Goat Yoga [April & Sarah]. The Amazing Race’s 30th season began filming in the iconic Washington Square Park in New York City on Oct. 1.

Shawn “The Matrix” Marion is sure to bring that all-around versatile game he’s renowned for to The Amazing Race. Marion won an NBA championship with the Dallas Mavericks back in 2011 and officially retired from the league in 2015.

The Amazing Race season 30 premiere sneak peek

In the sneak peek of The Amazing Race, contestants are officially revealed over at Washington Square Park in front of cheering fans. Host Phil Keoghan then instructs the contestants to jump in the iconic park fountain for a destination clue. The teams were ecstatic to find out they were taking a plane ride over to Iceland to begin leg 1 of the race.
