NBA Mock Draft: DeAndre Ayton joins the Hawks
The fun and interesting thing to think about with Brown is the fact that he was a good football player as well before coming to Miami. You can see traces of that type of overpowering athlete whenever Brown is on the court.
The sophomore hasn’t seen the uptick in scoring he had probably hoped for coming into his second season with the Hurricanes, but his contributions across the box score have jumped. Energized by a relentless motor, Brown is up to 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists per game, which helped lead Miami to a 12-1 start heading into conference play.
Brown’s versatility will attract scouts to him throughout the rest of the year. He can play on or off the ball on offense, with the play-making ability matched by solid finishing around the rim. On defense, he will defend three positions as a wing, and smooth out smaller lineups.
Brown can continue to find his shot as the season continues for the Hurricanes — Lonnie Walker is still finding his way and the pro system they run benefits Brown’s skills tremendously. When Miami is in transition, they — and Brown — are fearsome.
