The next Ben Simmons type to emerge in the NBA could come from Germany.

The 6-foot-8 point guard is wild to watch, with Kevin Durant size and above-average passing pedigree. The difference, already, between he and Simmons is Bonga’s ability to shoot, including quick looks off the dribble. For the Skyliners this year, including five games with their junior team, Bonga is shooting 30 percent from 3 with eight points and three assists.

He makes passes from the outside look effortless, puncturing holes in defenses as they slide open. His vision in the halfcourt is incredible, and he can take it himself in transition, with the power and agility to finish in chaos. The best is when he creates those opportunities for himself, as he is averaging 1.5 steals this season, according to RealGM.

Bonga is only 18 years old, but it is his third year playing professionally in Germany. He’s not ready to contribute in the NBA yet, but could easily take advantage of the system in place for G-Leaguers and two-way players to develop within NBA infrastructure. Someone should take a chance on Bonga.
