The 2018 Golden Globes are right around the corner. With the awards show airing Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, we have you covered with all the information you need to get ready, including who is hosting the show.

Comedian Seth Meyers has done plenty of hosting in his career to date.

Meyers spent plenty of time behind the desk as a host of Weekend Update on NBC’s Saturday Night Live before taking over as the host of Late Night on the same network.

In between, he’s also hosted award shows like the 2010 and 2011 ESPY awards, the fourth annual NFL Honors in 2015 and the 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards, the 66th iteration of the show.

Meyers also hosted the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in 2011.

Now, the late-night host will once again step into a hosting role for a significant event, this time the 2018 Golden Globes.

Meyers becomes the seventh different person to host the ceremony since its inception in 1944.

From 1944 to 1994, the program went without a host before John Larroquette and Janine Turner hosted the ceremony.

The Globes didn’t have a host after that until 2010 when comedian Ricky Gervais took over the gig.

He hosted the award show in 2010, 2011 and 2012, before making way for fellow comedians Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

Like Gervais, the duo had a three-year stint, hosting the show in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

For the 73rd-annual Golden Globes in 2016, Gervais returned as host before being succeeded by Jimmy Fallon in 2017.

With Meyers coming on board for the 2018 show, he marks the fourth different former SNL cast member to host following the aforementioned Fey, Poehler and Fallon.

The 75th annual Golden Globes will air on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018 on NBC. The Shape of Water leads all films with seven total nominations, while Big Little Lies paces all television shows with six total nominations.
