AFC Wild Card 2018, Bills at Jaguars: Highlights, score and recap
On Sunday afternoon at EverBank Field, the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Buffalo Bills. What did we learn from this playoff clash?
The only team in the league that hadn’t reach the playoff this century was the Buffalo Bills. The last time we saw this franchise in the postseason was the end of the 1999 campaign, when the club was on the wrong end of the “Music City Miracle.” That changed on Sunday when the team visited the Jacksonville Jaguars.
If you were looking for a wild high-scoring tilt, you didn’t do your homework. The clubs played to a 3-3 halftime tie. Jaguars’ quarterback Blake Bortles ran for 35 yards and threw for only 33 yards in the first 30 minutes. Meanwhile, the Bills outgained the Jaguars, 148-84, in the first half. But obviously, Sean McDermott’s only managed a field goal in two quarters and as it turned out, they were the team’s only points of the game.
Meanwhile, Bortles’ touchdown pass to Ben Koyack late in the third quarter was the difference in the team’s 10-3 victory.

Three Stars
1. QB Blake Bortles
Talk about balance? The fourth-year quarterback threw for only 87 yards but did connect for a score and wasn’t picked off. Bortles also added 10 carries for 88 yards in the team’s first postseason win since 2007.
2. LB Myles Jack
The Jacksonville defense kept the Bills out of the end zone and the young linebacker was solid. Jacksonville finished with six tackles, one sack and two passes defensed in the 10-3 win.
3. RB LeSean McCoy
In a losing effort, the veteran running back touched the ball 25 times and totaled 119 yards from scrimmage. McCoy led all pass-catchers in the game with six receptions.

Odds
The Jaguars were hosting their first playoff game since ’99 and entered the contest as a 9-point favorite. Meanwhile, the over/under for this postseason tilt stood at 39.5 as kickoff approached.
Next Game
The Jacksonville Jaguars will make their way to the Steel City for the second time this season as they and the Steelers clash in the AFC Divisional Playoffs. In Week 5 at Heinz Field, Doug Marrone’s defense picked off Ben Roethlisberger five times in a 30-9 win. Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills’ 2017 season ends and the franchise still hasn’t won a playoff game since 1995.
