Buffalo Bills fans won’t be rooting for anymore playoff football this year, but no one is upset about how the season went.
After ending a near-two decade playoff drought, the Buffalo Bills will be going home after the first weekend of the postseason. Normally when your team goes home early, it’s a painful experience that takes a while to work its way through your system.
Not for Bills Mafia.
Football in Buffalo might be going into hibernation until September, but Bills Mafia is only getting started. Most fans gathered on social media to thank the team for giving them one of the best seasons they’ve had in years.
Most folks were quick to point out that no one expected the Bills to be in the playoffs when the season started. The idea that the playoff drought would end this year wasn’t even a thought heading into the season.
The Bills overachieved this season and broke a 17 year playoff drought. They have TWO first round picks this draft. Found a shutdown CB in @TreWhite16. The Patriots will go 9-7 next year. Today's loss was ugly, but chins up, Buffalo. #GoBills #BillsMafia

Disappointed the @buffalobills couldn’t pull it off, but for a team that lots of people said was ‘tanking’ this year, I’m proud of this team #BillsMafia #Billieve #TrustTheProcess

Above all, most fans were thankful that the team gave them such a fun season. Not only from a football watching standpoint but because it was fun to be a fan for the first time since the 90s. That’s the real drought that was broken which we’re not talking about enough.
Thank you for a great season @buffalobills 💙❤️🏈 #billieve #onebuffalo #gobills #billsmafia

Buffalo needs to make a slew of improvements this offseason, including finding a better offensive coordinator and perhaps an upgrade at quarterback. With over $30 million and two first-round draft picks to spend, the Bills are going to be fun for a very long time.
Say what you will about Bills Mafia, but when a fan base can find the light in the darkness of a playoff loss that’s the sign of a truly special collection of people.
