Forget about Alabama and Georgia, the real winner at the National Championship Game is the fans who get to feast on Chick-fil-A inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

If you were able to get your hands on tickets to the National Championship Game between Alabama and Georgia tonight, you’re in luck.

No, not just because you likely got your tickets before the get-in price was $5,000 to get in the building. And no, not because you may get a glimpse of Donald Trump who will be in attendance.

It’s all about the spicy chicken sandwich, waffle fries and lemonade that Chick-fil-A will be serving all night long at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Now, why is this such a big deal, you’re asking yourself. It’s because Chick-fil-A is great, and needs no other explanation, but I will offer one. It’s simple. As Chick-fil-A patrons know all too well, the chain restaurant is closed on Sundays.

That means all those fans of the Atlanta Falcons who went to games this year didn’t get to feast on their righteous nugs. For just the second time this year, Chick-fil-A will be open for a game day and that’s cause for celebration.

People took to Twitter to profess their love, not for the two teams playing in the game, rather the food that will be for sale during the game. I guess Alabama and Georgia play, but I’ve been distracted by food thoughts.

Seriously, think of the revenue that will be generated from the restaurant being open for the national championship. I wonder how many pounds of waffle fries they’ll go through tonight and how many chicken sandwiches they sell. I have to assume they’ll sell enough Dr. Pepper to fill the Gulf of Mexico.

I feel like this is another way the man is trying to keep the media down. Such a travesty and I hope to read many columns about the lack of Chick-fil-A in the press box tonight.

It really is fitting for the All-SEC Championship Game winner to pour Chick-fil-A sauce over the coach, not Gatorade, and I think it would starta new tradition.

Now after writing this article, my stomach is growling and I’m very upset I’m not among the many members of college football media to be in Atlanta for the game. Someone have a spicy chicken sandwich with Chick-fil-A sauce all over it with waffle fries on the side with ranch and a Diet Dr. Pepper. Gotta watch those calories afterall.
