Winter Olympics 2018 schedule: When can you watch curling?
Curling is the only winter sport with events every single day of the Olympics. Here’s the schedule for what’s happening and when.
So, you’ve decided to commit your Olympic passions to the Roaring Game and now you need to know when you can watch Team USA curl their way to victory. You’ve come to the right place.
But first, some Pyeongchang time change housekeeping. Korea Time, the time zone in which the 2018 Olympics find themselves, is 14 hours ahead of Eastern Time. NBC, in their infinite wisdom, has decided they will air all the games live, without a tape delay. However, this can make reading the schedule somewhat confusing.
For example, a curling match that takes place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in Pyeongchang will air at 8 p.m. EST on Monday, the night before. Morning events become evening events, primetime events become crack-of-dawn events and afternoon events, well, they become middle of the night viewing.
(Thankfully, the highlight wonderland that is the internet is your friend should you choose to not up-end your sleep schedule.)
The schedule below lists the official Korea dates and times and then their U.S. eastern standard time translations. Times are pulled from the NBC Olympics schedule for start times and the official Pyeongchang 2018 schedule for event times.
Mixed Doubles
For the first time, the Winter Olympics will also include a mixed doubles tournament, which begins with round-robin rounds the day before the Opening Ceremonies.
Teams representing the United States (USA), Canada (CAN), Norway (NOR), Korea (KOR), Finland (FIN), China (CHN) and Switzerland (SUI) will compete in mixed doubles. Due to the ban, Russian athletes will compete under the Olympic flag, represented on the schedule as OAR — for Olympic Athletes from Russia.
