National Championship Game: 10 best NFL Draft prospects on Alabama and Georgia
These are the best 2018 NFL Draft prospects from Alabama and Georgia that will be on display in the National Championship Game.
When it comes to NFL Draft talent, the 2018 National Championship Game between the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide will have plenty. There is pro potential throughout both rosters and that means an exciting game should be on hand on Monday night.
Both of these schools have done a tremendous job recruiting the top talent to their programs and those players have blossomed into top prospects for the next level. There are players at all position that have made plays all season for both programs.
Whether it’s the defensive line, secondary, running back spot or elsewhere, there is talent to be had just about everywhere when it comes to this title game. Here are the top seven draft prospects leading into the 2018 National Championship Game.
7. The running backs: Georgia’s Sony Michel and Nick Chubb; Alabama’s Damien Harris and Bo Scarbrough
The top four running backs will all be drafted in the first three rounds in the upcoming NFL Draft. It’s no surprise both offenses run through the run game. The run game opens up the passing lanes for both Jalen Hurts and Jake Fromm and the threat of the play-action passing game can suck in the secondary.
On the Georgia side of the ball, Nick Chubb and Sony Michel have been dynamic all year. Both scored touchdowns in the Rose Bowl and Michel had four to his total, including the winning score in double overtime. Chubb overcame a serious knee injury as a sophomore so his medical checks at the combine will be huge in determining if he’s a high second round pick or not like his production and size and speed would suggest. Michel may be the better NFL prospect despite taking a back seat to Chubb for much of their four years in Athens so don’t be surprised if he is off the board first.
Damien Harris and Bo Scarbrough haven’t been as productive as the Georgia duo, but that’s because Hurts eats into their rushing totals. Harris is the complete package and has the best chance to go in the first round of the four packs. He’s the second coming of Mark Ingram. He’s compactly-built and explosive with the ability to go the distance on any carry. He’s the home run hitter to Scarbrough, who can also go the distance, but he’s the battering ram. Built more like Derrick Henry, Scarbrough is a 6-2, 240-pound battering ram who can also beat defenses on the perimeter with his long strides.
Harris, Michel, Chubb and Scarbrough figures to be the order the four packs are picked.
