Jon Gruden Oakland Raiders press conference live stream: How to watch
Jon Gruden will be officially introduced as the Oakland Raiders next head coach on Tuesday, and here’s how you can watch the press conference.
It was a very poorly kept secret, but once Jon Gruden called his final game for ESPN over the weekend the Oakland Raiders announced he’ll indeed be their next head coach. After nearly a decade out of coaching, “Chucky” is coming back to Oakland.
This will be Gruden’s second stint as Raiders head coach, as he went 38-26 over four seasons (1998-2001) with a 2-2 record in the playoffs. His last game as Oakland’s head coach was the infamous “Tuck Rule” Divisional Round playoff game against the New England Patriots, nearly 16 years ago now. He was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers the following offseason, and led that team to a win in Super Bowl XXXVII against the Raiders.

Gruden will reportedly get a 10-year, $100 million deal to come out of the booth and return to the Raiders. Owner Mark Davis has made big a move his father would surely have made, to inspire the local fanbase in Oakland for a couple more years and pave the way for increased hype when the team moves to Las Vegas.

The Raiders looked like a team on the rise in 2016, before falling well short of expectations with a 6-10 mark this year. Jack Del Rio probably should have gotten a chance to re-shape his coaching staff and lead a rebound next season, but the opportunity to bring Gruden back was too enticing and business should be good for the Raiders going forward.
