Here’s the complete schedule for men’s and women’s Snowboarding events at the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics.
The Winter Olympics are almost upon us and snowboarding is one of the most popular events. This year there are five events that women and men will compete in over the course of two weeks, including the introduction of the new Big Air event.
Here are the five events:
Halfpipe – Snowboarders perform jumps, rotations and twists as they go back and forth across a semi-circular ramp, like a pipe cut in half.
Big Air – A new event where snowboarders ride down a bill and launch off of huge jumps and then perform tricks while in the air.
Slopestyle – A downhill course with rails, tables, boxes, walls and jump pads. Athletes pick which objects to do tricks off of.
Snowboard cross – Teams of four to six athletes race downhill on a course filled with obstacles like banks, rollers, spines and jumps. The winner is determined by order crossing a finish line.
Parallel Giant Slalom – Two athletes race down parallel courses, first one down wins.
