The Western Michigan Broncos found themselves in some high-profile contests in 2017. One of those contests included the Buffalo Bulls, which ended up being the highest-scoring game in FBS history, tallying up to seven overtimes when it was all said and done.
For Western Michigan, losing former head coach P.J. Fleck did cause some decline during the 2017 campaign, but they still finished with six wins. The only problem with that was that the Broncos were one of three teams left out of the postseason even though they were bowl eligible.
In this matchup, Buffalo came into Kalamazoo looking to pull off a decent upset of Western Michigan. The MAC would not see a more exciting and long game in 2017, as the 137-total points scored tied Syracuse and Clemson, from 2016, as the most points in a single game.
