Tottenham are in the midst of a four-match unbeaten run in the Premier League. Mauricio Pochettino’s side scored 10 goals in the three games before being stymied by West Ham in part due to a screamer from Pedro Obiang. They go up against Everton for the second time this season but the first since Sam Allardyce took over as manager. In their first meeting, Spurs easily took home all three points from the away contest, winning 3-0. Harry Kane scored a brace and Christian Eriksen added the third. Now at home in good form, Tottenham will be confident of getting another good result.
Everton went on an eight-match unbeaten run in their first eight games under Sam Allardyce. They’ve hit a brief rough patch in the last two, however, losing 2-1 to Bournemouth and 2-0 to Manchester United. Wayne Rooney leads the side in goals with 10 so far on the season, the only player in the side with double digits. Scoring has been Everton’s Achilles heel this season, and in the last four matches that has reared its head again. Allardyce’s side have only netted once in the last four, and now take a trip to Tottenham, where scoring could again be a struggle.
