UFC President Dana White was not happy with Uriah Hall missing weight and suggested the fighter move up a weight class to avoid it happening again.

Uriah Hall was meant to fight Vitor Belfort, supposedly the Brazilian’s retirement fight, in the co-main event at UFC St. Louis. Instead, the day before the fight, he was transported to hospital as he botched his weight cut.

UFC President Dana White talked to the media after the event and he was not happy about losing the middleweight fight, blaming Hall’s lack of seriousness.

White said (via MMAjunkie), “I have a very long relationship with Uriah. I like him very much personally, but the guys at the UFC P.I. (UFC Performance Institute) said he’s the most—what’s the word—he doesn’t take it serious.”

“He doesn’t take his training serious. He doesn’t do what anybody tells him. He does his own thing. A week before the fight he went to L.A. He was hanging out in L.A. in clubs and stuff, so, not good.”

White went on to say that Hall has texted him and he (White) intends to talk to him about the matter.

“I’m going to talk to him. He texted me tonight. He’s back in his room, you know, obviously not good. If you don’t cut weight the right way, you don’t do what you’re supposed to do, this is what happens.”

Finally, White revealed his thoughts about Hall’s fighting future, suggesting the middleweight move up a weight class if he cannot cut weight properly at his regular weight class.

“What I think they (Hall) need to think about is fight at 205. Fight at 205 or show up and do what you’re supposed to do. There’s ways to cut weight properly and safely. They need to start doing that.”
