CLEVELAND, OH – JANUARY 2: Isaiah Thomas

The Cavaliers got romped on by the Timberwolves, 127-99, unable to figure things out against Tom Thibodeau and Jimmy Butler on the road. The Timberwolves built up a 41-point lead at one point, and the Cavs emptied their bench for the fourth quarter. LeBron James was held to just 10 points on 4-for-8 shooting, and it was his first loss in Minnesota since 2005. The Cavs had a few days off to figure things out before their game against the Raptors, but whatever film they watched, it didn’t help, as they lost to Toronto, 133-99.

While the team has to hope that eventually they’ll figure things out with Isaiah Thomas healthy, their offseason acquisition missed his first 11 shots and went 2 for 15 on the evening, struggling to find his shot against Delon Wright and the other Raptors guards. James had 26 points, but the second-leading scorer for the Cavs was Jeff Green with 13 points — not ideal. The Cavs played again the next day, dropping their Friday game to the Pacers 97-95. The Cavs let the Pacers rally from a 22-point deficit, and they’ve lost the season series against the Pacers with one more game against their division opponent.
