
The Timberwolves continue to excel, defeating the Cavaliers, Thunder and Knicks pretty easily this week. Andrew Wiggins plays some of his best basketball against the Cavaliers, and Monday night was no different. The former No. 1 overall pick had 25 points in three quarters, helping the Timberwolves run over the Cavaliers. They were up by 41 points in the third, and held LeBron James to 10 points on eight shots. The Timberwolves welcomed their division rival, the Thunder, for a Wednesday night game. They spanked the Thunder, keeping the role players in check for a 104-88 victory on national television. Jimmy Butler took a game-high 12 free throw attempts on his way to 26 points, continuing one of the finest seasons in Timberwolves history. Jeff Teague had eight points and three assists in 26 minutes, in his return from a sprained MCL. The win meant that the Timberwolves took the season series, 3-1, which could play a role in playoff seeding later on.
Karl-Anthony Towns messed around and nearly picked up a triple-double against the Knicks, and itās safe to say that heās been able to bust out of the minor slump he was in earlier in the season. With 23 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists, Towns was the fuel for Minnesotaās offense as they were able to close out the game. They capped off an undefeated five-game homestand with a 120-103 win over Portland, with Towns registering his league-leading 37th double-double. Theyāll start next week on the road against the lowly Orlando Magic.
