Skeleton: “Danger Zone” – Kenny Loggins

No doubt we were going to have some K-Logg on this Winter Olympics soundtrack. Easily the most terrifying of all these scary sports on ice is the skeleton. Basically, Gen Xers like Flea and whomever decided that luging wasn’t not safe enough. And then came the birth of the skeleton.

So how does Kenny Loggins fit into this equation? Besides just being a freaking incredible musician with an amazing beard, “Danger Zone” absolutely applies to the skeleton. Usually it’s reserved for flying navy jets with Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer, but it totally works here.

See, Top Gun is both Cruise and Loggin’s apex. For Kilmer, this would be a close second, because he was Batman Forever ago. Not to say he was the best Bruce Wayne, but he was still Batman, and that’s all that matters. Technically, you can medal in the skeleton, but it’s mostly about survival. It is The Revenant of Winter Olympic sports. The Hugh Glass would have won gold in the skeleton for sure, mostly because he survived a bear attack.

The real question here is do all skeleton participants give each other call signs. Yeah, everybody obviously wants to be Iceman, and probably Maverick. Though these olympians are representing their country, can’t they just have cool Top Gun/hockey helmets where they can rep their call sign. If you’re crazy enough to do the skeleton, I have absolutely no problem with you repping a Thunderchief emblem on you noggin and such.
