Every Winter Olympic sports perfect theme song

Ice Hockey: “Song 2” – Blur
If you’ve never seen an ice hockey game before, go fix that yesterday. It’s the best way to appreciate others being cold while you’re too cool for school in your comfy. No, you don’t have to paint your face like Matt Verderame or David Puddy when you’re going to a New Jersey Devils game, but you better believe that hockey rink is cranking some “Song 2” for sure. Woo-hoo!
There are other amazing hockey songs like “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and “Machinehead” and ABSOLUTELY not “Chelsea Dagger”, but hockey is about a bunch of people on skates flying by you in a Blur. Though “Song 2” is only two minutes and two seconds long, that’s enough time for at least two shifts in a hockey game. Woo-hoo!
What makes this song the best and most appropriate for hockey was that it was written by a BritPop band trying to “rip off” some group called Pavement. Do you realize that when you can’t find a rink, the best place to play hockey is on the pavement? Coincidence? No. Woo-hoo.
It’s not my problem that poor old Dante couldn’t get his day off in Clerks and had to bring his big hockey game to the roof. Did they play “Song 2” atop the Quick Stop roof? No, that’s because Blur and the Gorillaz guy wrote that a few years after the fact of aid hockey match. I’d like to think that hockey game inspired “Song 2” and the NHL and the Winter Olympics are thankful for that. Woo-hoo!
