The prices on Doncic and Calalthes are very close, but will the production be? How about guards? Who should we use? There is plenty of value at forward, so how should we build?
The Euro league is a different animal. It is much more halfcourt oriented than the NBA game. The games are also eight minutes shorter. There are 16 teams in the Euro League instead of 30. That means a more shallow player pool to choose from!

Guards:
Guard is pretty loaded today. Loaded to the point that I don’t consider Luka Doncic a must play. In fact, if you pay up for the top tier at all, I would go for Nick Calathes first despite the tougher matchup. Calathes put up 30.5 DraftKings points in the first game against Fenerbahce this year. Doncic didn’t do that against Baskonia.
I prefer to ignore the top two altogether. There are too many strong mid-range options. It starts with Nando de Colo. After a rough end to 2017, de Colo is back on track in 2018 with 75.25 DraftKings points in two rounds this calendar year. Sergio Rodriguez is also a strong pick, but if I’m only using one, it will be Nando. The only other one above $10k that I would consider is Nemanja Nedovic. He has a good matchup against Milan, and his subpar performance last round could keep ownership down.
I’m not crazy about anyone in the middle tier since Theodore and Goudelock are both struggling lately. I would rather go with the consistent production of Ray McCallum. McCallum had 20 DraftKings points against Milan on December 22nd. The strong paly of Facundo Campazzo lately has him on my radar as well. He has higher upside than McCallum.
For you cost conscious people, Dairis Bertans is an interesting pick. With Theodore and Goudelock struggling, Bertans has three straight games at more than 20 minutes off the bench. He has responded with 62.75 DraftKings points in those three games. Of course, if the two starters right the ship, Bertans could see a sharp minutes decrease with no notice. However, the chances of both struggling guards getting back on track at the same tie are not good.
With Matt Lojeski out, Nikos Pappas is in a good position here. Pappas put up his best game of the season with 31.5 DraftKings points in the first match against Fenerbahce earlier this year. If you are worried about ownership in Bertans, Pappas is a solid alternative.
Forwards:
Once again, Tornike Shengelia tops the forward list despite a below average performance against Real Madrid earlier this year. The Madrid frontcourt is still beat up, so I would expect Shengelia to put up some strong numbers today.
However, I would almost prefer to drop down to Bryant Dunston. Dunston put up 28.75 DraftKings points in the first meeting with Efes. Dunston has topped that mark in two of the last three games, so he could be in for an even bigger game. I’m also a fan of Will Clyburn on the other side of this matchup.
Krunoslav Simon headlines a loaded middle tier for forwards. Simon has six straight rounds over 20 DraftKings points. Four of those have been over 25. Kyle Hines is a godo option too, but keep in mind if choosing either of these two that Dunston and Clyburn are the higher priced for a reason.
If you are moving off of the Efes/CSKA game, Trey Thompkins is still a solid option for Real Madrid. However, since the price on Thompkins has risen so much, I prefer Walter Tavares for much less. Tavares’ numbers have been as good or better than Thompkins in two of the last three games.
If Jan Vesely is out again, Nicolo Melli is a must play at his price. This is another strong matchup for Kaleb Tarczweski, but with him being the same price as Vincent Poirer, I prefer Poirer and his higher ceiling.
If you haven’t had enough of the Efes/CSKA game, Zoran Dragic has played at least 26 minutes in each of the last nine games. He peaked with a huge game against Belgrade last week. That could mean that Dragic gets more run here today against the CSKA front.
