Thanks to the trade they made with the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2017 NFL Draft, the Bills will pick at No. 22 as well as No. 21 in April. That means they have two shots to improve their team in the first round of a draft that is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball. While the Bills should look to bring in a quarterback with their first of two first round picks, look for them to bolster the defense with their second pick in round one.

That pick should be Rashaan Evans, who may be the best linebacker in this draft class. The debate between him and Roquan Smith will be intense, but they both bring a ton of talent to the table. Evans has been an anchor on an Alabama team that won two national titles during his time at the school, and his blend of size and speed should make him a dominant player at the next level as well.

The Bills have a solid defense, and Evans could be the piece that puts them over the top. Rookie Tre’Davious White played extremely well in his first season in the Bills secondary, and Evans could have that kind of impact at linebacker for them. Winning the AFC East has proven impossible for any team other than the New England Patriots in the last decade and a half, but the Bills are building something special, and could have the defense to at least return to the playoffs next season.
