The Los Angeles Rams were the darling of the NFC this season, as they came out of nowhere to win the NFC West. Led by first-year head coach Sean McVay, the Rams were able to get it done on both sides of the ball, and the future certainly looks bright for the organization. Second-year quarterback Jared Goff really took a step forward this season, looking like seasoned veteran, and he has the full support of his head coach moving forward.
Unfortunately for the Rams, their run in the playoffs lasted only one game, as they were beaten by the Atlanta Falcons in the Wild Card Round. Still, they have to be happy with where they are, and now they can add the pieces they need to get over the hump. One area where they could stand to improve is in the secondary, and Denzel Ward from Ohio State would be a nice find way down at No. 23 in the first round.
Ward is another in a long line of solid cornerbacks from Ohio State, and he could have a tremendous impact in year one. We saw what Marshon Lattimore did this season for New Orleans, and Ward has just as much talent as Lattimore did coming out of college. This Rams team is here for the long-term, and if they can fix that secondary, they certainly will not be a one-and-done playoff team any longer.
