2018 NBA Mock Draft: Luka Doncic could accelerate the Hawks’ rebuild
It’s easy imagining a knockdown shooter like Thomas playing big minutes on a LeBron James team.
If there’s anything Thomas can show off, it’s his improved shooting as a junior. NBA people look at big improvement like that when a player gets into their third and fourth years in college, and though Thomas has not exploded statistically in any other category, he does in fact continue to shoot fire.
Thomas is also an active and athletic cutter, showing off an array of shots in those situations in Creighton’s Jan. 3 victory over Saint John’s, in addition to making three of five shots from deep. Though his steal percentage has gone down each season since his first, the length and strength advantages he has over each opponent will allow him to develop into a plus NBA defender.
Few players this late in the draft look capable of producing on the court with James right away, but Thomas screams out as someone who could.
