DraftKings European League Basketball Picks January 19th

More from DraftKings

Our guard loaded slate is back, and Doncic isn’t even the highest priced player going! However, there are a lot of tough matchups at the top. Should we pay for them regardless?

The Euro league is a different animal. It is much more halfcourt oriented than the NBA game. The games are also eight minutes shorter. There are 16 teams in the Euro League instead of 30. That means a more shallow player pool to choose from!

PORTLAND, OR – APRIL 27: Nick Calathes #12 of the Memphis Grizzlies drives to the basket on Damian Lillard #0 of the Portland Trail Blazers in the first quarter of Game Four of the Western Conference quarterfinals during the 2015 NBA Playoffs at Moda Center on April 27, 2015 in Portland, Oregon. Guards:

Calathes and Nando de Colo struggled in the first meeting against each other, so I am going to avoid this completely. If you want to go with Sergio Rodriguez, he did manage 44 DraftKings points on Athens the first time. Luka Doncic has a great matchup against Unicaja, a team that he put up 40.5 DraftKings points on the first time.

Nemanja Nedovic is fifth in the league in scoring, so he is always in play. Brad Wanamaker had 31.5 DraftKings points in the first matchup with Efes, but he is a tough play right now. Wanamaker has played just 28 minutes and mustered 7.25 DraftKings points in the last two games combined.

Facundo Campazzo continues to be a nice mid-range play. He had 22.5 DraftKings points against Unicaja the first time around. Campazzo has put together seven straight games of 15 or more DraftKings points. Jayson Granger has a nice matchup and has put together three straight games of more than 15 DraftKings points.

In the bargain tier both Curtis Jerrells and Matt Janning played well in the first matchup. Jerrells put up 31 DraftKings points in the first meeting, but Janning has been far more consistent of late. Marko Guduric has 64.25 DraftKings points over the last three games. Guduric has a lot more upside than anyone else in this tier.

Forwards:

Tornike Shengelia once again heads the forwards with another solid matchup. His production has been slightly down lately, but there is a good chance for a rebound against Milan. Jan Vesely looked really good in his return, putting up 29 DraftKings points on Athens. He had that in his first meeting with Efes as well. Due to the tough matchups in store for Dunston and Clyburn, I like Vesely if you’re moving off of Shengelia.

Chris Singleton put a tough game against Efes behind him with 54.75 DraftKings points over the last two games. This is a solid matchup against CSKA. Trey Thompkins continues to play at a high level with all of the injuries to the Real Madrid frontcourt. I don’t usually like to use him at this price, but this is a great matchup.

Krunoslav Simon racked up 38.25 DraftKings points in the first meeting against Fenerbahce, but on paper this is still a tough matchup. Vincent Poirer is still in play here against Milan as well. Just as on Wednesday, the middle tier at forward is littered with options again.

Kaleb Tarczewski is a solid play again, but it’s hard to move off of Walter Tavares with the way he has been playing lately. I also really like Jason Thompson with Nunnally still out.

Mindaugas Kuzminskas has not been all that consistent in his three games, but his matchup against Unicaja showed promise. The kind of promise that we all though was possible when he joined Milan. There is still risk involved here, but Kuzminskas has a lot of upside.

Fabien Causeur has been outstanding in January with more of a role opened up in the Real Madrid frontcourt. Causeur is a chalk play right now, but I don’t know how to move off of him at this price.
