Vikings at Eagles: Picks, predictions and odds

MINNEAPOLIS, MN - JANUARY 14: Stefon Diggs

The NFC Championship Game will take place on Sunday, as the Philadelphia Eagles will play host to the Minnesota Vikings.

For most of the 2017 NFL regular season, the Philadelphia Eagles looked like a lock to represent the NFC in Super Bowl LII. However, star quarterback Carson Wentz was injured towards the end of the year, and the team had to turn to Nick Foles the rest of the way. While Foles has done a nice job winning games, he has been more of a game manager, but he will have to do much more than that if the team wants to win this weekend.

On Sunday, those Eagles will be taking on the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship Game, with the winner heading to the Super Bowl. The Vikings got to this point thanks to a miracle play at the end of regulation in the Divisional Round, as Case Keenum hit Stefon Diggs for a 61-yard walk-off touchdown. That play put the U.S. Bank Stadium crowd into a frenzy, and now those fans are hoping their team can win one more game on the road, and return home for Super Bowl LII.

Playing as a home team has to be an incredible thought for the Vikings, but they cannot overlook the Eagles on Sunday. The Philadelphia defense put the handcuffs on an explosive Atlanta Falcons offense in the second half last weekend, and they come into this game once again as a home underdog. People did not give them a chance against Atlanta last weekend, but the Linc was rocking, and they were able to escape with a 15-10 victory.

Odds

Line: Minnesota Vikings (-3.0)

Over/Under: 38.5

The Eagles are the No. 1 seed in the NFC, but that has not stopped them from being considered the underdog in both of their playoff games this January. The over/under is set at 38.5, and with these two defenses, that may end up being too many points. This line will change a lot throughout the week, so head on over to OddsShark.com for any changes up until kickoff.

Philadelphia will have a home-field advantage in this one, and they still have weapons on offense despite the fact Wentz is out for the season. Minnesota’s season was saved at the last second last weekend, and that momentum should carry over into this one. This is going to be the better of the two games on Sunday, and when all is said and done, the Vikings will be heading back home to play in the Super Bowl in front of their home fans.
