Manchester City lost their first game of the season last week against Liverpool and will be looking to get back on track against Newcastle. Even without Gabriel Jesus, the attacking train just keeps on rolling. Their league-high 67 goals in 23 matches is absurd, and they could easily make it 70 in 24 this weekend.
Newcastle have endured a rather rough go in the Premier League since being promoted after last season. They sit only three points clear of the drop zone and are engaged in a relegation battle halfway through the season. If they do not find a way to pick up points soon they will be in jeopardy of moving back down to the Championship. Manchester City are not the team to target when looking for points, but it is not impossible. Highly improbable, but not impossible. If Newcastle have the best game of their season and City falter, a draw is totally reasonable here. But those are two big “ifs.”
