With the 11th week of the college basketball season in the books, here’s what the AP Top 25 rankings might look like for Week 12.
Just when you think you have the college basketball contenders figured out, something like Week 11 happens. The past week was arguably the most jaw-dropping and upset-ridden in recent memory with a handful of Top 25 teams losing not once, but twice.
College basketball went and got all crazy on us.
Starting off with the top 10, four teams lost and two of them — Wichita State and Oklahoma — lost twice. The Shockers might see a larger drop in the polls because of the competition level while the Sooners will get the benefit of the doubt since they’ve been playing Big 12 opponents.
From the 10-20 range in the rankings, we can expect heavy movement. No, I’m not talking about typical 2-3 teams losing, but rather six teams going down which were ranked between 10 and 20 last week. Two of those teams — Kentucky and Seton Hall — lost two times as well, but will it be enough to drop them from the rankings?
It all depends on what the teams ranked No. 21 through No. 25 did. Well, 4-of-5 of those teams lost in Week 11 and that means the rankings might look completely different this week. The shakeups were enormous and there will be some high-risers and free-fallers.
Let’s take a look at what the Week 12 college basketball Top 25 rankings could look like.
