The fourth installment of God of War, and the first to be developed for PS4, dropped a new trailer along with when it will hit the shelves.

Fornite may be the most popular game among Playstation users, but that’s about to change when God of War comes out. Ever since the first God of War was released in 2005 for Playstation 2, it has since become a flagship franchise for Sony’s console. The main franchise has spanned each new Playstation model, while spinoff titles have been developed for handheld devices. Next to Metal Gear Solid, it is arguably Playstation’s biggest franchise.

That’s why, when the PS4 first hit the shelves, one of the main things gamers were looking forward to was the fourth God of War game. It was a topic that got brought up at nearly every E3, and while Sony has put out a few teasers and gameplay footage, they haven’t revealed anything beyond that, including a release date.

But with this latest trailer, we can finally look for it to come out on April 20. And the reveal of a release date naturally means people can start pre-ordering it as well. But until then, you can just let this trailer hold you over for the next three months:

As you can see in this trailer, Kratos is back and he has a son. But while you thought that would make him chill on the whole killing Gods thing, you’d be wrong, as there are several shots of him killing mythical creatures along with his child. Guess you’ve got to start them out young.

While this game looks like it’ll be accessible to new fans of the series, the first three games are required reading. So if you haven’t played them yet, pick it up in the Playstation Store while it’s still cheap. Considering that God of War III came out eight years ago, while 2013 was the last time any God of War game was developed, this will be a much needed re-introduction to the iconic franchise and the Ghost of Sparta.
