Alabama. Minkah Fitzpatrick. 7. player. 48. . Defensive Back

Coming into the 2017 NFL season, many believed that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would challenge in the NFC South. They returned a solid young quarterback in Jameis Winston, and the team went out and brought in a nice weapon for him to throw to in DeSean Jackson. Unfortunately for Bucs fans, Winston took a step backwards this past season, as injuries and inconsistent play really derailed their season.

Looking forward to next season, the Bucs made the decision to bring back head coach Dirk Koetter. If the Bucs want to get better moving forward, they need to be better on the defensive side of the ball. The NFC South is loaded with talent, as was evident by the team sending three teams to the NFC Playoffs this season, so the Bucs have their work cut out for them.

If the Buccaneers want to contend in their very deep division next season, they have to get better in the secondary. Spending their No. 7 pick on a cornerback makes a lot of sense, and Minkah Fitzpatrick is the best out there at that position. He was a cog in a very stellar defense during his time at Alabama, winning two national titles, and he will bring a winning attitude to this Bucs defense if they spend the pick on him this April.
