2018 NFL Mock Draft: Josh Allen goes to the Jets
By Brad Weiss
The Chicago Bears traded up one spot to select Mitchell Trubisky at No. 2 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, and the hope was he could sit out his first season in the NFL. Well, Mike Glennon played terrible at quarterback to start the season, and head coach John Fox was forced to turn to the rookie earlier than the organization hoped for. The Bears struggled mightily all season long, and Fox was fired after the season ended.
In Fox’s place, the organization went out and hired Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy. Nagy is great with quarterbacks, and bringing him in as the head coach should do wonders for Trubisky’s development moving forward. The Bears have a lot of weapons on both sides of the ball, but bringing in some talent on the outside has got to be the priority at this point.
Jordan Howard is a solid running back, and hopefully the team gets a healthy Cameron Meredith back in 2018. With their top pick in April, Chicago should look to bring in another wide receiver to compliment Meredith, and Calvin Ridley should be the first one off the board. Ridley was an absolute star during his time at Alabama, winning two national titles, and showing playmaking ability while playing in a run-first offense with the Crimson Tide.
