High Value PF

Thaddeus Young, IND vs PHO ($6,200): Young had 40.4 fantasy points against the Spurs on Sunday. He posted 17.8 fantasy points against the Suns on Jan. 14. Assuming he gets enough playing time, he should easily hit the 26.6 fantasy points he needs to be at value on Wednesday. He’s a solid scorer and rebounder whose assist numbers have been up. He’s also helping with a couple of defensive plays each game. As long as this one isn’t a blowout, Young will put up numbers. ***

John Collins, ATL vs TOR ($5,600): The Raptors are 29th against the position in their last 15 games. Collins missed value against the Jazz, posting 20.9 fantasy points in that contest. I expect him to bounce back given the matchup. He had 31.6 fantasy points in 21 minutes against the Raptors on Dec. 29. For the record, I also like Serge Ibaka ($5,700). He’s been struggling, but the Hawks are a good matchup for him to bounce back against. Ibaka is a bit more of a risk with a higher ceiling. Collins is more reliable based on recent play. ***

Taj Gibson, MIN at POR ($5,600): Gibson had 23 fantasy points against the Trail Blazers on Jan. 14. That number would put him slightly under value on Wednesday. If Jimmy Butler is out, I love Gibson. He becomes the defensive leader who can get easy points in the paint and plenty of rebounds. Butler’s return lessens Gibson’s impact, but he should still be over value given the matchup, The Blazers are last against the position in their last 15 games. ****
