NEW YORK, NY – JANUARY 02: (NEW YORK DAILIES OUT) LaMarcus Aldridge /

New York Knicks

Send: Willy Hernangomez, 2018 second round pick

Receive: Kyle Anderson

The Knicks player most likely to be moved is Hernangomez, who has been displaced from the rotation by Enes Kanter and Kyle O’Quinn. He’s a talented player, there just isn’t an opportunity for him to play in New York at the moment. The Knicks could be talked into taking a chance on Anderson, who has shown that he can play after learning the NBA from Spurs coach Gregg Popovich. The Spurs are unlikely to sign him to a long contract, and would take the Chicago second round pick in the upcoming draft in exchange for their backup small forward.

The Knicks are going to be operating over the salary cap as is, and getting the Bird Rights to Anderson lets them re-sign him without using cap space. A team of Kanter, Porzingis, Anderson, Hardaway Jr. and Ntilikina could be a fun defensive unit in the Big Apple.
