CHARLOTTE, NC – JANUARY 10: Kemba Walker /

Indiana Pacers

Send: Darren Collison, Thaddeus Young, 2018 first round pick

Receive: Marvin Williams, Kemba Walker

The Pacers bite at a chance to acquire an upgrade at point guard, and swing for the fences with Kemba Walker. The trade costs them Young, who has been valuable for them this year, and their first round pick, but they have a young team that is showing signs of promise, and can afford to lose one pick, especially if it nets them a talent like Walker.

The Pacers can move Domantas Sabonis into the starting lineup alongside Myles Turner, or play Marvin Williams at the four to space the floor for Oladipo and Walker. That becomes a dynamic backcourt, with two players that can carve up defenses in the pick and roll. Walker might need to adjust to playing off-ball more often, but is a 35 percent career 3-point shooter that could see that number rise in Indiana as he plays with more space to get his jumper off.
