Fernando Gonzalez missed weight for his Bellator 193 headlining fight, making it the third consecutive fight where he’s failed to meet the weight requirements.

Fernando Gonzalez may be needing to re-evaluate his weight cutting techniques after failing to make weight for his headlining bout at Bellator 193 this Friday. It is the third consecutive fight Gonzalez has failed to make weight.

Gonzalez was scheduled to face Lorenz Larkin at a catchweight bout of 180-pounds but failed to make the mark, instead weighing in at 180.3 pounds. He has been fined 20 percent of his show money, half of the fine will go to Larkin, the other half to the California State Athletic Commission. Should Gonzalez win, another 20 percent will be taken from his win purse and given to Larkin, according to MMA Junkie.

Gonzalez has missed weight in his previous two fights as well. Gonzalez was paired with Brennan Ward at Bellator 182 for a 178-pound catchweight, but he came in at 180 pounds. He defeated Ward via a Guillotine Choke in the third round. Prior to that, he was scheduled for a welterweight bout with Brandon Girtz at Bellator 174, he weighed in at 174 pounds and defeated Girtz via a unanimous decision.
