DraftKings European League Basketball Picks January 25th

More from DraftKings

We only have three games in the Euro League today, making tomorrow’s five game slate a little larger. There is value on this one, and we once again have to choose between Doncic and Calathes. Who is the best choice? Let’s break down some matchups and find some value!

The Euro league is a different animal. It is much more halfcourt oriented than the NBA game. The games are also eight minutes shorter. There are 16 teams in the Euro League instead of 30. That means a more shallow player pool to choose from!

Guards:

At guard, you almost have to build around Calathes or Doncic. Nemanja Nedovic is battling arthritis in his hand, and could be forced to sit out. Kevin Pangos has a terrible matchup against Athens, but he did put up 39 DraftKings points on them in the first meeting. Both Doncic and Calathes have better matchups, but neither hit those heights in their first meetings with today’s opponents.

Errick McCollum is very inconsistent, but he had his best game of the season earlier this year against Real Madrid. He is one of the best three point shooters in the Euro League, but he doesn’t do enough of anything else to retain value if his shot isn’t falling.

In the middle tier, Jayson Granger is coming off of a huge game against Milan and has a great matchup tonight against Unicaja. Only Milan is worse defending the perimeter. I like Ray McCallum here as well, especially if Nedovic sits out. Nikos Pappas also has a nice matchup and guaranteed minutes with Matt Lojeski still out.

Toney Douglas had a monster against Fenerbahce last round. Ownership is going to be very high on Douglas with his price still this low, but if you want to pay for a stud, Douglas is almost a must. No one else at this price point can come close to what Douglas can do.

The only other bargains that I might consider are Matt Janning and Arturas Milaknis. Milaknis has been the most consistent, but he has a tough matchup against Athens.

NEW YORK, NY – DECEMBER 03: Tornike Shengelia #20 of the Brookly(Photo by Maddie Meyer/Getty Images) /

Forwards:

Tornike Shengelia once again has the best matchup among forwards. He put up 28 DraftKings points on Unicaja in the first meeting. We saw Shengelia tear up Milan last round after tough games against Real Madrid and Olympiacos. If you are fading Shengelia, I also like Chris Singleton slightly over Bryant Dunston today, and it’s mostly because of the matchup. Dunston did have 30 DraftKings points in the first meeting with Real Madrid though.

Real Madrid has the best matchup among forwards tonight, and stacking their front is tempting. However, Trey Thompkins has been inconsistent lately. I would rather go with the value of Walter Tavares or Rudy Fernandez at much lower prices.

The absence of Paulius Jankunas is going to open up a lot more minutes for both Aaron White and Edgaras Ulanovas. I don’t care for the matchup against Athens, but the price is definitely right here.

There is a whole lot of value at forward today. Zoran Dragic remains a favorite value pick, but Real Madrid has been pretty tough up front even with Ayon out. Adam Waczynski torched Baskonia for 40.5 DraftKings points the first time around, and he will only set you back $5,800.

Giorgi Shermadini is also out there if you need him. Shermadini has finished with double digit DraftKings points in each of the last eight rounds. That makes him a very solid bargain at $4,900. I would actually use him over Motum and Causeur today!
