7. Tim Tebow

It’s been awhile since Tim Tebow was around the NFL and yet, his name immediately provokes some type of reaction from people. Some people roll their eyes at a quarterback who couldn’t complete over 50 percent of his passes. Others insist that he could have been a little better had a team tailored an offense more to his skill set than trying to hammer his square peg into a round hole of an NFL offense. No matter what, Tebow will always be a hot-button name and the XFL should look to his direction when the time is right.

Now, this is contingent on Tebow not having a successful baseball career. The odds are certainly against that but he is a part of the New York Mets farm system. If Tebow can somehow make himself into an MLB-level player, this is obviously off the table. It’s a smart bet to think that deep down, Tebow wants to play football again. He’s not going to get a chance in the NFL in part because his track record is spotty and he’s also 30 years old. Teams aren’t going to knock down the door of a 30-year-old quarterback to come back after a six-season layoff. If Tebow wants to play football again, the XFL should leverage that into the media circus that tends to follow.
