6. Richard Sherman

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman is approaching 30 years old and is coming off an Achilles tear. He is staring down a crossroads of his career and if things go the wrong way, Sherman could be out of the NFL around the same time the XFL comes back. The braggadocios corner would be a great fit and Sherman is an extremely intelligent individual who can play the public like a fiddle. If he’s given a different platform than the NFL that wants to put a focus on Sherman speaking out, he can make himself and the XFL quite a bit of money.

The plus side is even though Sherman is starting to slip from his Pro Bowl caliber play, he would likely still be one of the better players in the XFL. Who wouldn’t want to see a game where Sherman tried to shadow Terrell Owens? Neither guy would be in their prime but it would still be a great matchup. McMahon could also have Sherman be more involved as an advocate for social issues if he chose. Sherman always has an opinion on any subject and usually isn’t shy to give it. There would be risk involved if Sherman rubbed some of the fans the wrong way, but the XFL is a giant risk as it is. It could be a perfect marriage.
