LeBron James watched Saturday night’s game between the Celtics and Warriors like you and me, as a fan, and had nothing but love for Kyrie Irving and Stephen Curry.
Stephen Curry scored a season-high 49 points en route to leading the Golden State Warriors to a win over Kyrie Irving and the Boston Celtics on Saturday night. The game was televised on ABC in their primetime slot, as you would expect for the best NBA game of the day. I watched the whole game as Curry and Irving traded one incredible shot after another while also dropping dimes for 48 minutes. Irving had 37 points, albeit in a losing effort.
LeBron James also got to watch the game as a fan and sent out a tweet late in the fourth quarter when Curry and Irving were simply going off. LeBron had nothing but love for Curry and for his former teammate, Irving, who has been vocal about wanting to leave LeBron, which led to his trade last offseason from Cleveland to Boston for Isaiah Thomas and the Brooklyn Nets first round pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.
There was no petty wars tonight though as LeBron said Irving and Curry were simply amazing.
@KyrieIrving & @StephenCurry30 just simply amazing!! Sheesh man! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

LeBron has always taken the high horse when it’s come to discussing Irving. He recognizes he’s a great singular talent and could be the reason the Celtics win the East this year, but he’s never tossed him under the bus, which he could have done at a number of opportunities over the last six months or so.

But let’s fast forward a few months, because it’s very possible LeBron could be sending out this very same tweet over the course of a best-of-seven series this spring if the Celtics and Warriors meet in the NBA Finals.
It’s been assumed the Cleveland Cavaliers would meet the Warriors once again in the Finals, but there is turmoil in the locker room and the results on the court not up to their standard. It’s all very possible LeBron and the Cavs get things sorted out between now and April, but if the Cavs are knocked out, I would totally be on board with LeBron tweeting his analysis for that series.
