On Saturday night, WWE will present NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia. Here’s how to watch it online.
January represents one of the WWE’s biggest months of the year. It kickstarts the Road to WrestleMania with the arrival of the most important storylines, along with the top stars competing at the Grandest Stage of Them All. This journey starts with the Royal Rumble, which, over the past few years, has become its own weekend. It features Raw, SmackDown Live and a live special from NXT, specifically NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia in 2018.
NXT’s TakeOver events have become some of WWE’s most anticipated shows. These showcase some of the best wrestling matches in the company, including the showcase between Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne at NXT TakeOver: Chicago in May 2017. How about the epic clash between Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn at NXT TakeOver: Dallas, just as the latter superstar made his way to the main roster?
These matches give the present-day NXT stars something to strive for, something that may be achieved on Saturday night. Especially with Velveteen Dream, Johnny Gargano, Andrade “Cien” Almas, Aleister Black and Adam Cole all on the match card. Will these stars deliver in the City of Brotherly Love?
This show will precede Sunday’s Royal Rumble match, which could even see an NXT star appear, much like 2017’s over-the-top-rope spectacle. This saw Tye Dillinger enter at No. 10, making it the least surprising position of anyone to enter the Rumble ever.
