WWE crowd in Philly starts NSFW Tom Brady chant
WWE NXT TakeOver was in Philadelphia, PA on Saturday eight days ahead of Super Bowl LII, and the crowd had some NSFW thoughts on Tom Brady.
WWE and football have been in the news together quite a bit over the past week. With the company’s owner, Vince McMahon, announcing the return of the XFL in 2020, many people have been buzzing about the crossover between sports entertainment and football. On Saturday night, however, there was another instance of those two ventures crossing paths, this time involving Tom Brady.
On Saturday, Philadelphia, PA’s Wells Fargo Center played host to WWE’s NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia show. As you’d expect in the City of Brotherly Love, there was a strong contingent of Philadelphia Eagles fans in attendance. And they didn’t exactly hide their feelings about the New England Patriots quarterback they’ll face off with on Feb. 4 in Super Bowl LII.
Prior to the start of the show on Saturday, the crowd at the WWE event began chanting “F- – – Tom Brady”. You can watch video of the chant from the Wells Fargo Center below (NSFW Warning: Obviously the language in the video is a bit vulgar, so be aware):
Should we really be surprised about Eagles fans voicing their opinions in such a manner? These are the same fans that caused police officers to grease light posts with Crisco prior to the NFC Championship Game to prevent fans from climbing them should the team win. What’s more, these are also the fans that still managed to get past the Crisco after the Eagles eventually thrashed the Vikings.

While Super Bowl LII is in Minneapolis, MN, there’s no doubt that a strong contingent from Philly will be in attendance come Feb. 4. These are some of the most passionate and vocal fans in all of sports — so much so that you’ll even hear their thoughts at a WWE show that has nothing to do with Tom Brady or even football at all.
