The WWE announced that the 2019 Royal Rumble will be coming to Phoenix, Arizona.

For the first time ever, the WWE Royal Rumble is going to be held in a baseball stadium. The WWE has announced that they will be bringing the 2019 Royal Rumble to Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.

After the success of the Royal Rumble in the Alamodome in San Antonio in 2017, the WWE will once again be bringing the event to a larger venue. Chase Field is of course home to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Rumble should have a bit of a unique look to it, as the venue offers one of the more interesting looks to it in all of baseball. There’s a swimming pool in right field for those that love a little swimming with their wrestling.

This isn’t the first time that Phoenix has hosted the Royal Rumble. In 2013, the Talking Stick Resort Arena held the event. On that night, The Rock ended CM Punk’s 434-day world championship reign.

John Cena would also win the Royal Rumble that night as well to earn a meeting with The Rock at WrestleMania 29. With the event being announced so far out in advance, it is clear that the WWE has big plans.

Not only will the Royal Rumble take place that weekend at Chase Field, but Talking Stick Resort Arena will host NXT TakeOver: Phoenix, Monday Night RAW and SmackDown Live. It will be a full four days of action in the valley.

After Shinsuke Nakamura’s incredible performance in the 2018 Royal Rumble, one has to wonder who will be in his position next year? Regardless, the WWE is set to bring one of their biggest events of the year to the desert.
